I’ve struggled with dry hands for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I’ve tried hundreds of creams, lotions and sediments, but none ever really did the trick for me. Generally, they worked poorly and only briefly, or they made my hands all greasy.

Dry hands are a common problem, and I found it hard to believe I should be the only magician with this problem; there had to be a solution. I started searching the Internet, reading many articles, and trawling various forums for solutions. Most suggestions involved things and products I’d already tried. On the Magic Café forum, I found an old thread on the subject, but there didn’t seem to be one definitive solution. Some suggested products that weren’t available in Europe, and opinions were divided about the effect.

In early 2023, I decided to try and develop a solution to the problem myself. Based on the products I’d tried over the years, I had some idea about what I wanted but no Idea about how to make it. So, back to the internet and my trusted friend Google. I researched ingredients and production methods, followed by weeks of experimenting with different combinations of ingredients and mixing ratios. I got lucky (or maybe my research paid off), and had a working solution within two months. It didn’t look good, and I’d have to heat and shake it every time I wanted to use it, so it wasn’t something that could be sold, but it worked! More research and testing followed, and by March, I was ready to start expanding the test group and introducing the product to others.

Getting an idea and deveolping a new product is one thing. But it doesn’t stop there. You need to find a name, design a logo, find packaging, etc. This process can easily take more time than developing the product itself. While developing I called the product Magic Grip Serum, and although descriptive, it wasn’t very catchy.
